What types of plastic is vanPlestik able to print with?
For an efficient recycling process, it’s important that only one type of plastic is used per product. We are able to print with the following types of plastic:
PS (Polystyrene)
HI-PS (High Impact Polystyrene
PP (Polypropylene)
PLA (Bioplastic, Biobased)
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)
PET-G (Glycol modified PET)
PC (Polycarbonate / Perspex)

Can I bring my company’s waste stream to you to make a product out of it?
Yes, we collaborate with businesses that would like to re-use their own waste streams into useful products. Together we can analyse a specific waste stream and test if it’s suitable for upcycling.
A few examples of what we have used before are: phone cases, coffee cups, flowerpots/trays, mushroom containers, festival coins, coat hangers, refrigerator drawers and many more.

What is the possible size of the objects you create?
Our 3D printer is very large, so we are able to print from the size of a soup bowl up to an artwork like The Plastic Madonna. The plastic Madonna was printed in parts and then put together.
The maximum size of our printer is 4.2m x 1.2m x 1.1m (L x W x H).
Where do you get your resources from?
We work with post-consumer waste as well as post-industrial waste. Sometimes we buy batches of plastic waste and sometimes we receive donations from companies or organisations.
Due to the fact that we are able to also recycle contaminated waste, some recycling companies supply us with the plastic waste that they are not able to recycle. This material would otherwise be incinerated.

Our products are available in our webshop. If you want to see and feel them in real life, pleaser contact us to make an appointment for a visit in our workshop.

We love working with artists and designers with a similar vision. Contact us to discuss the details!
Do you sell your 3D-printers?
We are not selling our printers just yet. We do believe that our way of working can help to fight the plastic waste problem worldwide. We are still working on a way to properly share our technology. Contact us for more information.
Can you print something that I have designed myself as well?

Can I visit your workplace and take a look at the printers?
Every first Thursday of the month we provide a look behind the scenes in our workshop during the vanPlestik Meet-Up. While enjoying a beer (or two) we take you along on the journey of plastic waste into new products and answer all of your questions.
